Homeless Services working group
a work group of el cajon collaborative
El Cajon Collaborative recognizes the challenges that face our growing homeless population in East County. Our stakeholders recognize the complexities of issues including housing costs and availability, mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse, employment availability and lack of local services and shelter. This working group is looking at programs and practices in other cities to see what success they have had. We work closely with our local Cajon Valley Union School District (CVUSD) to support their McKinney-Vento families, East Co. Homeless Task Force and local government to initiate new programs and help expand services in East County. This group also puts on a Connecting Families Resource Fair in the fall for CVUSD. If you are interested in participating, please contact Carol Lewis, ECC Coordinator, at [email protected].
Meetings are held at Little House, 131 Avocado Ave., El Cajon on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in support of Cajon Valley Union School District. Meetings are open to the public.
