Resident Leadership Academy Class of 2013
Fifteen El Cajon residents were the first class of resident leaders to graduate from the El Cajon Leadership Academy. The graduation ceremony was at Palms Banquet Hall on June 6th, 2013. These committed residents have studied the health and well-being of El Cajon, the systems and documents that guide El Cajon, and the nuts and bolts of launching community-based initiatives. Now that these residents have completed their course work they will transition into community improvement project planning.
The Resident Leadership Academy model is being implemented widely in San Diego County as a way of equipping residents to build healthier communities. Four of the recent graduates were also trained to facilitate this program and will be hosting future Resident Leadership Academies. The El Cajon Collaborative will continue meeting with residents as they begin practicing all that they have learned.
