Students Together Against Alcohol ‘N Drugs (STAAND) is a unique group of high school and college aged young people with a common vision of living a drug free life! STAAND looks at the community environments that influence substance use either in a positive or permissive manner or supports creativity, success, celebration and unity –alcohol and drug free. STAAND interns stand together! STAAND members often study conditions and document things like alcohol advertising, Messages that normalize marijuana use and the increasing use of prescription drugs

Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely submission of billing for hospice Part A, Medi-Cal and Part B Medical Practices.

Comcast Bridges the "Digital Divide": $10 Internet Service & Low-cost Computers
Cable and Internet provider Comcast is launching a new program called Internet Essentials that offers low-cost access to the Internet and affordable computers as well as digital literacy training to families with children who are eligible to receive free lunches under the National School Lunch Program, according to the company’s blog.
Upon enrollment, new customers have the opportunity to buy a “netbook-style laptop computer” for $149.99 (plus tax). It supports wired and Wi-Fi Internet connectivity and includes the Windows 7 Starter operating system and Internet browser software.
The program will continue to accept new customers for “three full school years,” according to the product’s FAQ page.
Conditions include:
    1. Must be located where Comcast offers Internet service (currently in 39 states)
    2. Must have at least one child receiving free school lunches through the National School
        Lunch Program
    3. Must have not subscribed to Comcast Internet service within the last 90 days
    4. Must not have an overdue Comcast bill or un-returned equipment

A 30-day public review and comment period is required for the County of San Diego, Behavioral Health Services to submit applications for the State-administered Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Housing Program. This public review pertains to the specific proposed housing development to provide permanent supportive housing for the County’s mental health clients.
Comment on the proposed development attached must be received by the County by September 10, 2011, to be considered for inclusion in the County’s final analysis and certification of the application to the State. Help SAMHSA Define Recovery
Over the past year, SAMHSA—as part of its Recovery Support Strategic Initiative—has worked with the behavioral health field to develop a working definition of recovery that captures the essential, common experiences of those recovering from mental and substance use disorders, along with 10 guiding principles that support recovery. Please review the working definition and associated concepts below:
Recovery From Mental and Substance Use Disorders: A process of change through which individuals work to improve their own health and well-being, live a self-directed life, and strive to achieve their full potential.
Guiding Principles of Recovery:
* Recovery is person-driven.
* Recovery occurs via many pathways.
* Recovery is holistic.
* Recovery is supported by peers and allies.
* Recovery is supported through relationships and social networks.
* Recovery is culturally based and influenced.
* Recovery is supported by addressing trauma.
* Recovery involves individual, family, and community strengths and responsibility.
